FAQs
Frequently asked questions…
How do I take care of my woven taonga?
- Wash separately for the first time once sewn on to your kākahu
- Machine washing is fine
- Lie flat to dry
- No dryer
Are whakaahua & kupu easy to sew on to my kākahu?
Yes, they can be hand-sewn; you could also find a local seamstress or nanny to machine sew them on for you. If you do, our recommendation is that you pin the whakaahua and kupu in place so they know where you would like them sewn.
Are whakaahua & kupu soft to touch?
Yes, very soft.
What is fraying?

As you can see above, fraying is what happens to woven fabric when the edges are unfinished. All of our woven items have been backed with fusing to keep them in shape and restrict "fraying." Whakaahua & kupu will continue to fray for a while, so just pull off the loose threads...you won't do any damage.
Do you offer discounts for bulk orders?
